Preparation of formed shapes for use as wood, from vegetable fibres, e.g. bamboo, and an adhesive, by soaking the fibres in adhesive, molding, pressurizing and drying

Preparation of very resistant formed pieces from vegetable fibers in which long strips of adult bamboo having a cross section of 3-6 mm2 are placed in bundles 10-12 cm2 in diameter, soaked in a dilute adhesive solution and placed in molds. They are then subjected to a pressure of 1 tonne/cm2 to reduce the volume of the bundles to around 2/3, and heated to dryness at 120 deg C.
