The mouthpiece is especially for a clarinet or saxophone. It has a pointed end (1) with a reed (3), and the other end is shaped as a plug (2) which is inserted in the end of the musical instrument. The holder (4), which may keep the reed in place consists of a strap of leather or leather substitute. The ends are in contact and are turned outward to form a seam (12) with a sharp edge which may be sewn or adhered together.
