The canoe hull for use in calm water has straight parts (B,C) going from 0.25 m from the front part (A) to about 1.25 m from the rear end (D). This places the rear end on the rising wave created by the boat. The parts (C,D) keep the water line at the rear end to the constant width required by the main frame.
