The sealing tool activated by internal combustion comprises a combustion chamber (1), which has an exhaust valve (34), in which a mixture of combustible gas is ignited to drive a piston (8) connected to a piston rod (10). There is a locking/unlocking device (54) for the exhaust valve. A sensor (55) maintains the locking device in the locked position and once the piston has returned to it initial position transfers the locking device to the unlocked position.
