The pressure regulation in a reservoir (1) containing ink (3) in an ink-jet printer determines pressure of the gas (4) in the reservoir. The gas pressure is measured and compared to a set value, and adjusted according to the difference by adding or removing a measured volume of gas. The measurement and correction process is repeated regularly. The set value can be dynamically adjusted.
