The bridging head contains an endless screw (84) having a gear ratio between 1/20 and 1/35. A torque limiter is interposed between a toothed wheel (86) and the axis of rotation (20). The motor axis (72) supports an irregular shape inertia wheel (102) which allows manual unlocking of a clamp (24). Bridging head for holding or claming a part, includes a clamp fixed to a rotating axis, as well as a rotating actuator designed to rotate the axis so as to move the clamp to and from open and closed positions. The actuator (110) is coupled to motor axis (72) which extends orthogonal to a rotation axis (20) and which supports an irreversible type endless screw (84) meshing with a toothed wheel (86) fixed to the axis (20). A part (114) controls the actuator.
