Method for identifying the characteristics of a digital fingerprint in which a first inner circle (C1) of radius (r) of the print is magnified with a constant zoom factor. An outer annulus formed between the inner circle and an outer circle (C2) has varying magnification. The magnification decreases in a continuous manner along a radius from a maximum value equal to the magnification in the inner circle to a value of one at the circumference of the outer circle.
