Tower furnace, e.g. for waste incineration, has lifting system to raise combustible material to high temperature zone and/or flame contact zone

A furnace (1) has a lifting system (2) in the form of a piston or endless screw which raises the combustible material into its high temperature or flame contact zone, created especially by a ring of gas burners (5). The combustible material forms a pyramid shape with sides of ca. 45 deg , the tip of which constantly vanishes in the combustion zone as its cinders slide down to be evacuated through outlets (4). The furnace can also incorporate a shredder (6) for the combustible material and a humidifier (7) beneath the hot zone.
