In the production of injection-blow molded hollow containers from polyester (I) based on ethylene terephthalate repeating units, by injection molding a preform then blowing the preform in a mold with the shape of the required container. In the production of injection-blow molded hollow containers from polyester (I) based on ethylene terephthalate repeating units, by injection molding a preform then blowing the preform in a mold with the shape of the required container, (I) has intrinsic viscosity (IV) at least 95 ml/dl and contains not more than 3.5 mol. % monomers other than ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid and not more than 2.5 mol. % free or combined diethylene glycol (both based on total diacid monomers). Independent claims are also included for hollow containers (specifically bottles having a hot flow resistance corresponding to a VRB of less than 2% in the Tp pasteurization test) and preforms obtained in the process.
