The road sweeper, which can be adapted to a motorized vehicle comprising a front lifting arm (8), comprises a frame (1) carried by castors (13) and supporting a rotating brush (4) and a rubbish collection tray (5). The unit is housed in a casing (3). In the front are hitching means (7) to the motorized vehicle lifting arm whilst at the rear the frame is connected by an arm (19) to a vertical upright (22) the lower part of which is provided with a castor (23) resting on the ground and carried by a clevis (25) idling on a vertical axis.
