Protection of complex electronic circuits against perturbations, e.g. incident solar radiation or local manufacturing defects by provision of protective circuits specific to both short and long term memory
Digital circuit architecture comprises combinational circuits (10, 12), short term memory circuits that are not capable of storing data for more than k operating cycles and long-term memory circuits (13) capable of storing data for more that k operating cycles. Systems for protection against different perturbations are used for different types of circuits according to the functionality of said circuits. The circuits used provide means for immunization against the occurrence of faults for long duration storage circuits, means for rapid detection and resetting of errors detected in short term memory and combinational circuits controlling short term memories and determining the data that should be written to long term memory.
