Using an antioxidant selected from superoxide dismutases (SODs), their analogs and derivatives, racemic, R+ , R- alpha -lipoic acids, and mixtures of these, in the manufacture of medicines for human and veterinary use for the prevention and treatment of surface ocular disorders, is new.
