The fixing system, especially for veranda roofing panels (9), consists of glazing bars (6) with vertical cores (7) and lower lateral ribs (8). Once the edges of the panels are resting on the cores they are covered by inverted U-section caps (12) shaped to engage with the upper ends of the glazing bar cores and slid into position lengthwise. In addition the cores, which are hollow, can be fitted with inner reinforcing members.
