摘要
Coating the surface of a metal prosthesis, e.g. of titanium alloy, for implanting into the human body, consists of first treating it with an amorphous carbon (11) which is diffused in the metal (12) by depositing a layer of polycrystalline carbon (13) followed by a layer of fluoroapatite and one of hydroxyapatite. The fluoroapatite and hydroxyapatite are applied by Plasma Vapor Deposition to produce a very dense layer that is linked physiochemically with the polycrystalline carbon layer.
