The auto-adaptive steering servo for a motor vehicle has a control sending a signal to an electric motor which consists of a motor signal (Cplus) and an assist signal (Cdelta). A main computer calculates the motor signal as a function of a first group of parameters one of which includes the steering wheel torque. A subcomputer calculates the assistance value as a function of a second parameter group including a first computer to produce a reference value and a second computer to calculate a bias coefficient.
