A magnetic field sensor is fixed to the braking servomotor casing (38). The sensor consists of a conductor or semiconductor (30) carrying a current and a permanent magnet (32) which partially encloses it. A magnetic skirt (42) is attached to the moving inner wall (44) of the servomotor such that on braking the sensor detects a magnetic field change and electronically (52) operates the brake lights (24) and other controls (56)
