Artificial stone is made by providing a mold from a natural stone, providing a paste composition comprising one or more colorants concentrated in part of the paste, filling the mold by juxtaposing longitudinally in the bottom of the molding a number of parts of colored paste so that longitudinal colored areas are produced, and demolding when set, to obtain an artificial stone reproducing the surface of the natural stone and with colored streaks. An Independent claim is included for the artificial stone produced by the method.
