The plant for cultivating micro-organisms such as bacteria used in degreasing vats consists of a reaction vessel (1) with an inlet (2) for nutrients, a gas disperser (5) and a gas outlet, a heat source (4), a water inlet (3) and an outlet pipe (6) for the water/micro-organism mixture. The reaction vessel has a conservation zone for a volume of the culture, whatever the volume of water passing through it. The plant for cultivating micro-organisms such as bacteria used in degreasing vats consists of a reaction vessel (1) with an inlet (2) for nutrients, a gas disperser (5) and a gas outlet, a heat source (4), a water inlet (3) and an outlet pipe (6) for the water/micro-organism mixture. The reaction vessel has a conservation zone for a volume of the culture, whatever the volume of water passing through it. The conservation volume is determined from the total volume of the vessel and the frequency of water/micro-organism evacuation, and is between 50 and 75 per cent of the total volume. The conservation zone consists of at least two cylindrical chambers (8, 9) linked by a connecting pipe (10) passing through the base of each chamber and determining the volume of the conserved culture by the height of their upper ends (10A, 10B).
