Angular inductive sensor of the synchro-resolver type functioning as a rotating transformer

The inductive sensor includes a ferromagnetic stator and a rotor, the stator having an armature (10,11) revolving about an axis, and having a primary annular winding (13) centred on the axis, and fed with an AC current, which generates a electromagnetic field in the armature, and two identical secondary windings (14a,14b). The secondary windings are disposed in an electric quadrature, each in the form of an arched ring along the arms of the armature by openings lodged in the axial direction in the armature. The rotor is without a winding, of a ferromagnetic material, having successively, in the axial direction, a section presenting a revolution symmetry situated radially at right angles to the primary winding and a section presenting, at right angles to the secondary winding, a semi-cylindrical pole projecting radially at an angle and of a diameter such that the gap which exists between it and the stator is small by comparison to the gap between the stator and the rotor, apart from the sectional segment, in a manner to provoke a coupling of the primary winding with the secondary winding, which varies as a function of the angular position of the rotor.
