The driver aid is provided by a control unit (2) interacting with a driver-operated control. The driver interface is implemented in the turn indicator switch (P11), and uses a capacitive sensor to detect the approach of the driver's hand and, if the system perceives danger, an electric motor to alert the driver by vibration (3). Implementation of the control action (Sv) is delayed.
