The system, e.g. for accumulating bottles (2) and delivering them in single file to a subsequent treatment unit, consists of an accumulating table (3), fed by a conveyor (5), and a pressure-free aligner (8) leading to an outlet. The aligner extends parallel to the accumulation table, which has a transfer conveyor (17) that pushes the bottles sideways along a guide rail (18) towards the aligner via a transition conveyor (19) running in the opposite direction and a second guide rail (14).
