The elastomer joint defines a rotational axis and comprises inner (2) and outer (4) frames connected by an elastomer material (6) subjected to a torsional load about the axis before fitting to the vehicle. The joint comprises a U-shaped clamping rod (10) between the outer and inner frames. The outer frame comprises an outwards extending stop (8), the clamping device and stop arranged so as to come into mutual contact after subjecting the elastomer material to a torsional load under the return load so as to maintain the torsional stabilization of the load on the elastomer material.
