Fabrication of a decorative facing for a panel or a component of concrete or mortar by molding comprises: filling a mould with a fluid material, able to be solidified, to give the final state of texture and/or color to the outer surface of the facing; solidification of the fluid material; and removal of the panel or component from the mold. The fluid material incorporates at least one non-calcareous material chosen from metal oxides, corundum or carbides, such as silicon carbide, chromium oxide, iron oxide, cobalt oxide or titanium oxide.
