A support element comprises four rods 32, 33, 34, 35 lying parallel to one another with a quadrilateral shaped reinforcement member 37 positioned inside of and connected to each of the four rods. The support element my be used for cement lining tunnel walls. The reinforcement member lies at an angle a to the plane formed by rods 33, 34 and the plane formed from rods 32, 33, and lies perpendicular to the plane formed by rods 32 and 33 and the plane formed by rods 34 and 35. Also included is support arrangement which does not define the four rods as parallel to each other, instead defining two of the planes in which the rods lie to run parallel to each other.
