PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pantograph condition measuring method and device for accurately measuring the height of a pantograph and deviation of a trolley wire even during commercial operation of a rolling stock.;SOLUTION: This pantograph condition measuring method is equipped with a step (a) for setting a first window crossing a shoe body 1 of the pantograph in an imaged picture plane obtained by imaging at least a part of the pantograph 10 disposed on a roof of the rolling stock and detecting the position of the shoe body by binarizing a brightness level in the first window, and a step (b) for setting, in the picture plane, a second window moving to follow the motion of the shoe body while crossing a trolley wire 2 with which the she body comes into contact and detecting the position of the trolley wire by binarizing a brightness level in the second window.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
