PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus for a polluted water area for lowering an operation cost and ensuring mobility in the water and to shut off a shift of environmental water to a gas phase side in a contact face part between the gas phase and liquid phase of the underwater breathing apparatus.;SOLUTION: A watertight diving suit 12 watertightly covering a skin surface of a diver for shutting off contact between the environmental water and the diver and a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus 15 carried by the diver in the water for allowing the diver to move independently and breathe in a closed respiration circuit of are used, and in at least one of the diving suit 12 and the underwater breathing apparatus 15 or a continuous part spatially continuing to a hood or a face mask, exhaust valves 14 and 17 discharging air to the environmental water are arranged.
