PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid drop non-ejection detecting device that does not require highly accurate setting of a positional relationship between an ejection nozzle of a liquid drop jet head and a liquid drop detecting unit and can detect presence or absence of defective ejection with high reliability for a long time, and to provide a liquid drop jet device.;SOLUTION: This liquid drop non-ejection detecting device 50 comprises a pair of reflection plates 501, 502 disposed such that reflection faces thereof each having a reflectivity of 80% or more are opposed with each other, a light emitting means 503 which is positioned to a portion in the vicinity of one end of each of the reflection plates 501, 502 and emits a light beam 505, and a light receiving means 504 which is positioned in the vicinity of the other end of each of the reflection plates 501, 502 and receives the light beam 505 alternately reflected by the reflection plates 501, 502.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
