PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing VOCs of a styrenic resin excellent in efficiency for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and to provide a styrenic resin, a foam board and an extruded foam sheet obtained by the method. PSOLUTION: The method for removing VOCs comprises the steps of supplying a mixed material comprising a styrenic resin, water and a hydroxy compound to an extruder 1 with a vent port 6, melting and kneading the mixed material in the extruder, removing the VOCs contained in the styrenic resin together with water and the hydroxy compound by suction from the vent port, and then obtaining a styrenic resin with a reduced amount of VOCs from the extruder.
