PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element having sophisticated function utilizing physical property appearing in a nano-region as an alternative of the prior art element having only a switching function.;SOLUTION: The element comprises a fine-lead 4 consisting of a p-type or n-type semiconductor in which the number of dopants included within the unit length is equal to or less than the surface level per unit length, a side gate 5 provided adjacent to the side surface of the fine-lead 4, and a read gate 7 allocated at the upper part of the fine-lead via an insulation film 6. A current flowing into the fine-lead 4 can be controlled independently with a voltage of the side gate 5 or read gate 7 to realize various element characteristics. The complementary type filamentary element having the plastic property combining the p-type and n-type filamentary element having the plastic property functions as an element having resonance property which can freely select resonance voltage or resonance width only with the element itself.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
