PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a lowering in contrast and the occurrence of brightness in a reflective liquid crystal display panel due to warpage caused by difference in thermal expansion coefficients between a glass substrate and a silicon substrate. PSOLUTION: A holding device for the reflective liquid crystal display panel LCD comprising a liquid crystal sealed in between the glass substrate 4 and the semiconductor substrate 2 is constructed by using a holding member 1 with a flat surface part 1b and and a pressurizing member 7 to press one substrate out of the glass substrate and the semiconductor substrate to the side of the other substrate so as to press the other substrate to the flat surface part of the holding member. Thereby the warpage of the reflective liquid crystal display panel caused by difference in thermal expansion coefficients between the glass substrate and the semiconductor substrate is corrected and the reflective liquid crystal display panel is flattened.
