PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting whether a subject has the predisposition of polydipsia or not, comprising clarifying and detecting the genetic polymorphism of an ohlexin transfer mechanism related to the polydipsia in a chronic schizophrene or the like.;SOLUTION: This method for predicting whether the subject has the predisposition of the polydipsia or not is characterized by analyzing a biological reagent obtained from a subject to determine the polymorphism of an ohlexin 1 receptor gene, wherein the polymorphism is a monobasic polymorphism at a specific sequence and/or at least one polymorphism non-equivalent to the monobasic polymorphism. In a preferable embodiment, the polymorphism of the ohlexin 1 receptor gene is in the range within 500 bases in the front of and behind the 1222-position of a specific sequence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
