METHOD FOR TREATING RAW WATER WITH OZONE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating raw water with ozone constituted so as to effectively remove dissolved residual ozone. PSOLUTION: In a preceding process of passing raw water, which flows in a water cleaning plant, to a flocculation/sedimentation treatment process, the raw water is biologically treated in a biological treatment tank 1 and subsequently treated with ozone in an ozone treatment tank 2. Thereafter, dissolved residual ozone in the ozone-treated water is passed through a goethite bed 33 in a residual ozone decomposing column 3 and converted to OH radicals to lower the concentration of residual ozone. Next, the residual ozone is passed through a granular activated carbon bed 31 to reduce residual ozone to remove the same. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
