PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate occurrence of differences between the validity of an actual electronic certificate and its lapse information, and to abolish acquiring an unwanted lapse certificate by a certificate verifier, to decrease the amount of data to be acquired, to reduce the load for a person who generates the lapse information, to reduce the time for lapse information acquisition by the certificate verifier, to abolish a case when the certificate verifier does not know the reason of lapse, and to distribute a reliable lapse information to others.;SOLUTION: A public key certificate lapse information generating device 1 corresponds to a lapse information generating device for electronic certificates; and comprises a public key certificate lapse validating unit 11 for validating that a public key certificate becomes null and void, an attributes certificate generating unit 12 for generating lapse information of the public key certificate, validated as null and void by the public key certificate lapse validating unit 11, as an attributes certificate, and a repository operating unit 13 for storing the attributes certificate generated by the attributes certificate generating unit 12 into a repository.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
