PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means to draw up road base charts having fixed accuracy for GIS ( Geographic Information System ) by connecting together the administrative plane charts on the scale of 1/500 which are the administrative charts ( the road registers ) possessed by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Japan.;SOLUTION: By this method, general support software for constructing GIS (Geographic Information System) is installed in a road administration support system 1, a plurality of connecting administrative plane charts 6 (n) are registered in a reading image database 8 with a scanner 5, and the basic charts on the scale of 1/2500 in which the areas corresponding the administrative plane charts are drawn are registered in the reading image database 8 with the scanner 5. The road base charts for GIS are drawn up by displaying each administrative plane chart 6 ( n ) on the basic chart in piles and by connecting together each administrative plane chart 6 (n) on the display by using coordinates and institutions etc. indicated on the basic charts as targets. The substitution of the administrative charts can be performed with sufficient accuracy based on these coordinates by filling in checking targets 71-74 outside the figure limit of each administrative plane chart 6(n) beforehand.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
