PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour compensating method, contour compensation circuit and contour compensation program capable of suppressing coloring and compensating a contour even in a four-plate pixel shifting system and to provide a video signal display device.;SOLUTION: This contour compensation circuit 1 individually compensates a video signal level of a contour for each color with a first reference channel and a second reference channel of a video signal for displaying video in order to prevent coloring that occurs near the contour in enhancing the contour of a contour enhancement target in the video with the four-plate pixel shifting system. The contour compensation circuit 1 is provided with an inverse gamma correcting part 3, a contour compensation signal generating part 5, an adjustment signal generating part 7, a contour compensation signal delaying part 9 and an inverse gamma correction signal delaying part 11 and a calculating part 13.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
