PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a highly accurate color prediction model even in an output device to which total amount restriction is applied in a method for creating a color prediction model. PSOLUTION: Output values after correction for the respective color components are calculated so that a device color signal of a color patch does not exceed predetermined total amount restriction based on an initial output value as an output value of the color patch of which the total amount restriction is not considered. In this case, for the initial output value located on or in the vicinity of a color gamut outline, the initial output value is corrected so that it is located on or in the vicinity of the color gamut outline even after the correction. For example, color component other than the one having 100% of ink amount is reduced so as to satisfy the total amount restriction without reducing the color component having 100% of the ink amount. When combination of initial output values of Y, M, C except K is achromatic color of 1:1:1, the output value is corrected so that ratio of the initial output values of Y, M, C, K is maintained and the total amount restriction is satisfied.
