PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locally manage a portion of assurance methods managed by the network management system (NMS) of a communication network by network equipment.;SOLUTION: An installed device (D) is intended to local assurance management for a network element (NE) in a communication network (N) equipped with a network management system (NMS), wherein the network element (NE) presents a chosen configuration and contains a measurement means (MM) for the measurement of parameter values in the network and a management information base (MIB) which stores management data representing the measured values. The device (D) includes a management means (MAE) used to match the configuration of the network element (NE) in accordance with at least the management data stored in the management information base (MIB) and with chosen rules known as assurance rules.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
