PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously improve combustion stability of premixed lean gas, reduce NOx, and improve flashback resistance.;SOLUTION: Premixed gas 1 having a high equivalent ratio is supplied from one surface side of a first fiber mat 4 having a felt mat shape and is glowing-combusted on the other surface, and this is used as a pilot burner 12. Heat exchange is performed between a second fiber mat 6 having a felt mat shape faced to the other surface side of the first fiber mat with a certain clearance 8 and a red heat surface on the other surface side of the first fiber mat, thereby suppressing NOx generated in high temperature combustion. Additionally, premixed gas 2 having a low equivalent ratio is supplied to the clearance via the second fiber mat, and is preheated to expand the stable combustion range, and then lean combustion is performed in the clearance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
