PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a gradation correction curve rightly reflected in a gray direction even when a color reproduction area of an output device is narrow in a gradation correction curve creating method or the like for creating the gradation correction curve for correcting a gradation of an image. PSOLUTION: A standard chromaticity value of standard gray patches (1st to 13th standard gray patches in figure 11) having a standard chromaticity value out of a color reproduction area 30A of the output device at least in standard gray patches shown in figure 11 with numbers from 1 to 13 is adjusted into novel standard chromaticity value which is a chromaticity value within the color reproduction area 30A of the output device, and the adjusted standard chromaticity value is defined as a target chromaticity value of gray patches.
