PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust sensitivity at high speeds while taking the nonlinear characteristic of a photosensor part into account. PSOLUTION: When the sensitivity of the photosensor part 3 having a nonlinear characteristic is adjusted, a silicon retinal camera 2 obtains a maximum amplitude value based on pixel information in frame units which comes from the silicon retinal camera 2. The relationship between the maximum amplitude value and the given desired range of the amplitude value is referred to and when the maximum amplitude value is out of the desired range, the time for storing the charge required to drive the silicone retinal camera 2 is updated in such a way as to increase stepwise until the maximum amplitude value enters into the desired range.
