PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To float an offensive smell removing device on the surface of the sewage in a sewage storage tank to prevent the occurrence of a malodor from sewage or the like. PSOLUTION: The offensive smell removing device A is constituted of a container 8 and the microorganism implanted biodegradable fiber body 9 inserted in the container 8. The biodegradable fiber body 9 is constituted of a single fiber body and the left end part thereof is molded into an almost semispherical body while the right end part thereof is molded into an almost conical body and the central part thereof is molded into an almost columnar body to constitute the integrated biodegradable fiber body 9. The container 8 includes a basket, that is, it can be substituted with the basket having the same function. The container 8 in which the biodegradable fiber body 9 is inserted is floated on the surface 7b of the sewage 7a of a drain tank or sewage storage tank 7 to be connected to the sewage storage tank by fixing string 10.
