PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a tip of a welding wire is melted by irradiation with laser beams, deposition is generated when the welding wire by the advance feeding is brought into contact with a base metal to achieve defective arc start in an arc start control method in which the advance feeding of the welding wire to the base metal is started when a welding start signal St is input, and the output of a welding power source device 6 is started in a laser beam irradiation arc welding to perform the welding by emitting laser beams on a molten pool of arc welding, the withdrawal feeding of the welding wire from the base metal is started and a small initial current runs when the welding wire is brought into contact with the base metal by this advance feeding, the advance feeding of the welding wire is re-started after the welding wire is separated from the base metal by this withdrawal feeding and the initial arc is generated, and a regular welding current runs to transfer to a stationary arc generating condition.
