PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an entirely new dyeing method comprising carrying out a ground dyeing of a fiber material in the textile and dyeing industry followed by an effect color dyeing of an ombre pattern such as monocolor or multicolor radiant pattern thereon.;SOLUTION: The new effect color dyeing method comprises the following practice: A fiber material such as cotton is impregnated with a reactive dye-containing padding solution according to a conventional method of pad batch dyeing with a reactive dye, the resulting dyed fiber material is squeezed and then borne, in a wet condition, with ice containing a reactive dye, a surfactant and optionally sodium alginate to make an effect color dyeing of the fiber material in an ombre-patterned fashion such as radiant-patterned fashion with the dye contained in the melted ice, followed by carrying out a conventional setting treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
