PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly accurate sorting when sorting objects.;SOLUTION: The object sorting device is provided with an illumination device 50 for irradiating one, two or more cullets 30 with light, a CCD (charge coupled device) camera 60 having at least one or more lines of photodetector arrays for detecting the light transmitted through or reflected from the object, a judging circuit 90 for digitally converting optical information detected in the CCD camera 60 to material information indicating material, generating a pixel data string for each line, grouping the pixel data and the pixel data adjacent to the pixel data on the basis of the continuity of the optical information for the respective pixel data of the pixel data string and computing the shape of the cullet 30, and an elimination device for sorting the cullets on the basis of the material and the shape.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
