PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for optimizing the balance between reduction of the data amount by the compression of font data, and the overhead necessary for recovery.;SOLUTION: The information accumulation concerning a memory element is improved by using a combination of a compressed data memory format 214 and a non-compressed data memory format 212. Since font data may be stored without compression so that the overhead concerning recovery is reduced thereby, and the need of providing a memory sufficient for storing the fonts after the recovery is reduced.
