PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete cooling facility and a cooling method using the facility which realize cooling control with higher accuracy and realize the uniform temperature in the width direction of a sheet by preventing excess cooling to the edge parts, implementation of overaging treatment if necessary, and prevention of a coil-break phenomenon in the steel sheet.;SOLUTION: In continuous annealing, the steel sheet is passed through rolls disposed at different heightwise positions and a cooling facility main body in which wind boxes for blowing cooling fluid toward the surface of the steel sheet are arranged parallel to a direction in which the steel sheet is passed through is divided into three control zones, and a sheet thermometers is disposed at the exit side of each control zone. Then, the cooling facility has a constitution in which the whole or a part of the wind boxes are divided into the width direction of the steel sheet, and a blowing flow rate from the window box divided in the width direction can be adjusted in each divided chamber.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
