PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MgBSB2/SB-based superconductor with high critical current density and high irreversible magnetic field. PSOLUTION: This MgBSB2/SB-based superconductor is produced by forming a mixture of powders such as Mg powder, B powder, element M powder and sintering it (wherein, M is at least one kind selected among Ti, Zr and Hf). The atomic ratio is denoted as Mg:B:M=1:2:x (wherein, 0.001x0.1).
