PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for re-engineering a part by generating a parametric master model for the part from an editable geometry for the part.;SOLUTION: By the method, a tooling master model (134) is generated from a manufacturing context model. The tooling master model includes a tooling geometry (62) for the part. A system for re-engineering the part (100) includes: a part design master model module (110) configured to generate the parametric master model from the editable geometry; and the tooling master model module (130) configured to receive the parametric master model, to generate the manufacturing context model from the parametric master model, and also to generate the tooling master model from the manufacturing context model.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
