PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator in which a transformer for generating a high voltage is miniaturized, and a power source for the same, and a method for generating a high voltage for eliminating static electricity.;SOLUTION: The static eliminator is equipped with at least one discharge electrode 1 that applies a high voltage on air to ionize the air and generate ions, and an alternating-high-voltage power source 2 that supplies power to the discharge electrode 1. The high-voltage power source is a source that produces a sawtooth wave voltage having a gentle rising part and a steep falling part as a high voltage applied to the discharge electrode. The sawtooth wave produced by the sawtooth wave source is applied to the discharge electrode, whereby the discharge electrode generates corona discharge, ionizes air and generates positive and negative ions. The high voltage power source is equipped with a transformer, wherein, when a current is made to flow through the primary winding, energy is stored with the current of the secondary winding being stopped by a rectifying element, and when the current of the primary winding is cut off, the current of the secondary winding is made to flow.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
