PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a prepaid card from being forged by illegally copying its data by writing a feature information to multiple storage areas by turns every time money amount information, etc., is updated and collating all the written feature information against the measured feature information of the prepaid card. ;SOLUTION: A consumption processing part 12 updates variable information on the amount of money, etc., of the prepaid card through a reader writer 14 according to the consumption of the prepaid card associatively with a body vending machine which performs consuming operation and also stores vending information including the amount of consumed money in a storage part 13. A check control part 15 quantizes gradation distribution information on the density of a bar code part read out of the prepaid card by an optical sensor 16 and compares it with quantized data in the variable information read out of the information area of the prepaid card by the reader writer 14. When the both do not correspond to each other, it is decided that the inserted prepaid card is illegal, then an alarm is displayed and its use is stopped.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
